    Feeding Potential of Young Athletes

The TWG Foundation is proud to introduce Snack Attackers, a food security initiative designed to ensure young athletes have the fuel they need to thrive — both at practice and on game day.

After coaching youth sports for more than 20 years, TWG co-founder Michael Williams saw a troubling pattern: every season, some kids would arrive at practice having skipped lunch — and sometimes even breakfast. The lack of nutrition was clearly affecting their energy, focus, and performance on the field.

But identifying which kids needed support — and finding a way to help without stigma — proved challenging. As more families face rising living costs, it became evident that a practical, team-based solution was needed.

That’s how Snack Attackers came to life. The program partners directly with local sports teams and organizations to provide bulk orders of nutritious, non-perishable snacks that can be kept on hand throughout the season — making it easy to discreetly support any athlete who needs a little extra energy before hitting the field.

This spring, we are running pilot programs in our hometown of Sylvan Lake with plans to grow across Alberta.
